Audio Notes: Optimising Batch Transcription
In a previous blog post I introduced Audio Notes Batch Transcription.
If you’re not familiar with Audio Notes Batch Transcription, it helps save you hours of time each week, discover the key topics and sentences being discussed in YouTube content.
This might be podcasts, interviews, technical sessions etc.
It does this by using to AI automatically generate a transcript, associated abstract, and key sentences for any content that you are interested in.

Less Mouse Clicks. More Automation.
The initial version of batch transcription involved several mouse clicks and manual processes to create the summarised video content.
In this recent update, I have automated most of these processes and reduced the number of mouse clicks.
Back-end middleware has been created to automate processes in Microsoft Azure. AI processes that generated NLP and text analytics insights are also automated.
You no longer need to manually download the transcript and manually generate the summary.
Those two buttons have been removed:
Simply supply the podcast URL and descript then click create and leave Audio Notes to work its magic.

After processing has succeeded. The summarised content is made available:
A real time-saver. I can get key takeaways from this 2.5 hour talk in a few minutes.

Demo
In this 4-minute demo, you can see me creating a batch job for the Microsoft AI tour. It only takes a few clicks.
The job takes approximately 15 minutes to process the 2.5-hour talk.
AI automatically generates a transcript then produces an abstract with an overview of the talk.
Key sentences and discussion points are also surfaced.
You can skim read this in a few minutes.

Summary
I am personally using batch transcription to help me quickly get the takeaways from technical sessions, content.
What would normally take hours each week, with batch transcription, I can streamline my learning process.
This will ship soon.
