My New Course On Pluralsight is LIVE: Vector Databases & Embeddings for Developers
My new course Vector Databases & Embeddings for Developers is LIVE on Pluralsight!
In this course, you’ll learn how to use a vector database and embeddings to create intelligent AI solutions.
- First, you’ll explore the fundamentals of embeddings and vector databases.
- Next, you’ll discover the role of embeddings and vector databases in RAG systems.
- Finally, you’ll learn how to use pre-trained models to create embeddings that form a RAG application.
The course lasts 45 minutes and is split into 3 modules.
I packed experience from building real-world AI systems into this course.

Module Overview
In module 1, you will learn about embeddings and vector database fundamentals.
The following is covered:
- overview of embeddings
- differences between vectors databases and traditional databases
- role of vector databases in managing data in ai systems
In module 2, you will learn about the role of vector databases as external memory in LLMs.
The following is covered:
- how vector databases power semantic search (external memory)
- using vector databases to reduce LLM hallucinations
- the role of embeddings and vector databases in rag systems
In module 3, you will learn how to use pretrained models and APIs to create vector embeddings.
The following is covered:
- using pretrained models to create vectors from text queries
- supplementing LLM responses with vectorised content
This module is code heavy and uses C#, Semantic Kernel and OpenAI API endpoints.
By the end of this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge and understand how vector databases and embeddings help you build intelligent AI systems
